Last month the G7 Teams unveiled their official open ranking system supporting a Counter-Strike 1.6 ranking for the time being. Now they released the first major update to the position table regarding the past month August.
As a side note, MYM received the points although there was an internal debate as to whether PGS should receive the points or MYM, since MYM failed to qualify through ordinary means. The final decision came down in favour of MYM based on the reasoning that there are no rules currently in place for such situations and the decision would be objective and unfair to discount the points from MYM. Further attention will be put into creating stricter and formal qualification rules for future events.
The G7 Teams strives to improve professionalism and transparency in all areas within Electronic Esports and previously has announced initiatives such as the standardized G7 player contract, prize money dispute system and now the official release of the first version of the Counter-Strike 1.6 ranking system. The G7 Teams strongly believes that to improve transparency, and reward the achievements of teams and players a balanced ranking system is needed. This will enable the comparison, improved reporting and measurement of the world’s Esports teams and players.
